So a few weeks ago when it was like a real life summer in Glasgow, Rick and I went for a walk (as we always do) to catch some rays. And now said rays have (inevitably) disappeared I thought I’d reminisce about the time we stopped into Tantrum Doughnuts at random and treated ourselves to our first Tantrum experience.
Yes, I said it. The elusive pop up kitchen that is El Perro Negro makes me the best burger I have ever eaten a few times a year at his pop-ups in Glasgow. I don’t know a whole lot about the backstory of El Perro Negro other than what I’ve read online, but you can find a bit more info about the chef himself on James Vs. Burger (he has a more recent review of the last kitchen takeover too if you want to take a look). I think he had one pop-up at Bloc on Bath Street, and for the past two years he’s been taking up residency in Brewdog’s kitchen on Argyle Street, satisfying the burger needs of the Glasgow population. Good beer + best burger = happy days.
